It is really hard to describe this movie without making it
sound really lame. The concept itself is
an interesting one, a twist on the more classic zombie film, yes there was an
apocalypse and there are some survivors etc but this is more than just
that. It does not fit inside the genre
of zombie horror; it is a romcom at its best. It is sweet and funny, it makes
you think, it could almost be an analogy for the situation humanity finds
itself in at the moment. There is not
much more to be said without giving the whole thing away.
Having said that it makes you think, don’t think too much
when it has finished as at the end of the day it is a film, and there are lots
of continuity errors and plot falls so that if you think about it as a story as
a whole and try to make sense of it, you will just begin to pick it to pieces
and it unravels quite quickly. It is a film,
that is all, enjoy it for that.
It is a cross between films like Pay it Forward, Shaun of
the Dead, and some cheesy romance (all of which the tittles escape me right
now). It is unique and fresh, although
it will definitely not be for everyone.
Go see this if you like non committal body language, girls
with guns, and warm fuzzy feelings.
